How often should I Service my SEAT?

SEAT’s service schedules generally recommend that most models should be serviced on a time/mileage basis, taking into consideration the frequency of use, and style of driving. SEATs subject to town style or short distance driving should typically be serviced at intervals of 10,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever is reached first, whilst SEATs subject to long-distance driving should be serviced at 20,000 mile, or 2-year intervals. In addition to these suggestions, many SEAT models employ a system of sensors and monitors, contributing to the 'Longlife' system. These sensors ensure servicing is only completed when necessary, and will alert drivers to all necessary maintenance.

Will servicing my SEAT with an independent garage invalidate my warranty?

Recently introduced EU ‘block exemption’ regulation allows independent garages and dealerships to complete servicing for all vehicle models without invalidating their warranty (so long as the manufacturer’s servicing schedule is followed, and equivalent quality parts are used where replacement is required. This means you are able to service your SEAT at any reputable garage you’d like.

A full service, completed every 12/24 months or 10,000/20,000 miles (depending on driving style), will be more extensive - including approximately 50 checks and adjustments. Full services tend to cover all points of an interim service, alongside additional checks, and the replacement of expendable parts such as spark plugs, oil, and filters.

What is the SEAT longlife servicing schedule?

SEAT is known to offer two different kinds of servicing schedule - with its traditional offering, the 'Fixed Inspection' schedule basing intervals upon mileage and time, e.g. a full service should be performed every 10,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever is reached first. Its variable Longlife service bases scheduling upon live data collection, and vehicle usage, ensuring your SEAT is only serviced when necessary.
